Patty Mills and Dejounte Murray came to play in Game Six, their performances definitely made Coach Pop very proud. They filled in for Tony Parker well in his absence and this was a gutsy performance. The point guards combined for a big 25 points and 11 assists with only two turnovers in this close out game. One of the biggest stats of the night goes to Murray who had a surprising 10 rebounds for the game.
2) Jonathan Simmons:
The league knew that Simmons was capable of being a spark off the bench but they had no idea that he was a defensive stud. He put the bricks on James Harden and caused the MVP candidate to have one of his worst games in the playoffs. Simmons forced Harden into six turnovers, while shooting an horrid 18% from the field. And if that wasn't enough, Simmons was a force on offense as well. He scored 18 points and 4 assists for the Spurs that were in desperate need for offense from the perimeter.
1) Lamarcus Aldridge:
Finally, the Lamarcus Aldridge that fans had been waiting for showed up in Game 6. He had a dominant performance and was unstoppable on the offensive end of the court. He scored a huge 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Aldridge did this while shooting a blazing 62% from the field. Most of all his level of energy and activity was way up from the games in the past. He just played the game versus over analyzing it, the Spurs need this Aldridge for the rest of the playoffs.
