Currently both if these teams have swept their way through the First Round of the playoffs and so far in the Second round it looks like it may be a repeat of the same deal. These two teams, especially the Warriors, are just so far ahead of the rest of the competition that is doesn’t make for good games or television. Most of the games they participate in are just so one-sided that they’re aren’t many story lines surrounding these series.
2) Lack of Competition:
The NBA is hurting these days, not because their aren’t more contenders, but because there no teams to even put up resistance these days. The Cavs and the Warriors have been to the FInals two years in a row and their rode back, so far, has been without obstacles. Sure, them winning the series overall wouldn’t be a surprise but blowing out teams every game just loses its luster for most NBA Fans.
1) Great Plays:
Players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry are at their best when they are making dazzling last minute plays in the playoffs. This is something that the fans want to see and with blowouts there's no opportunity for fans to see these players do the impossible. Jordan is considered one of the best entertainers because he hit game-winners and clutch shots , games with the Knicks and Pistons were close enough for this to actually happen. Games today are decide in the first-half.
