The Grizzly tandem combined for only 19 points and 29% shooting from the field. Conley the younger and once coveted point guard was outplayed by the old veteran Tony Parker. You can expect for Conley to re-surge and try to redeem himself in Game 2. Randolph, who usually gives the Spurs fits, couldn’t buy a basket--only making 3 of this 13 shot attempts. His old school post style makes him a tenacious player, you can expect him to have a better game.
2) Green’s Defense:
Danny Green didn’t make a single shot last game but his defense in the third quarter was what helped turn the tide for the Spurs on the defensive end. He reminded the league to why he is valuable to this team even when his jumper isn’t falling. Now with that said he is too good of shooter to be held back, expect him to let the ball fly and connect on a few threes this game.
We already know what Kawhi Leonard will bring on the perimeter, he has been consistent all year. The question is who is going to assist the MVP candidate and in Game One it was a combination of Parker and Mills hitting baskets from the perimeter. The two guards combined for for 27 points and were hot from three--hitting all their five attempts. The Spurs will need at least one of these players to continue to knock down shots and score.
