Rockets have little answer for Lamarcus Aldridge in the painted area, the Spurs need to get him involve early and often. Aldridge is the type of player that if he gets going early then he will be effective for the rest of the game. He needs to see the ball go in the hoop a few times to spark his confidence. Game 3 vs the Rockets he had 26 points and 9 rebounds, the Spurs are going to need more of the same from him--start to finish.
2) Three-Point Shooting:
The Spurs shot a mediocre 9 for 25 from the three-point line in Game 3--that must improve for Game 4. The Spurs did hit some timely threes down the stretch but in the first half they were around 1-10 from behind the arc. The Spurs are going to need the supporting cast like Ginobili, Simmons, and Mills to hit the three and hit it well. The Spurs are a different team when that shot falls, maybe an active Aldridge inside can free up some of those long balls.
1) Patty Mills:
Mills had 15 points for the game which helped but his shooting percentage was in the dumps. He shot 28% from the field in Game 3, largely because he only made two of his ten three point attempts. Mills had a couple air balls in the game and just looked like he was rushing his shots. Hopefully a Game 3 win gave him some confidence and he will shoot better. His skill-set from behind the arc is too vast for him to shoot 20% again--Spurs need more out of him.
