The league released official sale numbers and it is a bit surprising that Durant is number three on this list, but then again people do love a villain. Durant emerged as this when he left Oklahoma City for the already stacked Golden State Warriors. The team already had a strong fan base and thousands that probably immediately rushed stores to get their hands on this new jersey.
2) LeBron James:
The 4-time MVP being second on this list is a bit surprising after his incredible resurgence in the NBA Finals, bringing the city of Cleveland the championship that they desperately wanted and needed. James is likely second on the list because kids these days enjoy shooting long threes a bit more than driving to the basket. He is also getting a little older and they're are younger and more popular players playing these days.
1) Steph Curry:
It's not a surprise that Curry is the leader in this category; he is arguably the most relatable superstar in the league. It is easier for kids to relate to Curry’s dazzling long-range threes versus the high flying dunks of taller stars. His face has also been everywhere, endorsements involving water, deodorant, and Under Armor. Curry’s skill-set is just very appealing to the casual fan.
