3) Celtics:
  • The Boston Celtics have a lot of cap space for the former all-star. He has showed in the series versus Cleveland that he needs help to win a championship and Isiah Thomas may be the point guard he needs to make this happen. The Eastern Conference is by far the easiest route to the NBA Finals and Boston is the choice that makes sense outside of a stacked Cleveland--that couldn't afford George anyway. Isiah Thomas, the Celtics star, hasn’t peaked yet and George would compliment him nicely.

2) Thunder:
  • Westbrook needs help--badly. He needs a player on his team that can create offense on his own. Westbrook is expending so much energy for his expected triple-double. This move with George will likely take away from Westbrook’s individual stats but give his overall team record in the competitive Western Conference a needed boost. Now George may possibly have to take a pay cut to make this move happen; he is truly at a crossroads, does he prioritize pay or winning.

1) Spurs:
  • Speaking of taking pay cuts, Paul George could team up with Kawhi Leonard and Lamarcus Aldridge. He could conceivably play the 2 guard position. This would form a new “Big Three” in the NBA and make an interesting rivalry out West against the Warriors. The Spurs are still in the playoff race but their need for a second scorer behind Kawhi is evident. This move would likely increase George’s stock and likely extend his career. If he is serious about winning an NBA championship he would definitely consider this option.
