3) Point Guard Play:
  • The idea of him running the point guard position full time was a bit risky and could have ruined the Rockets season but he thrived at the position. He led the league in assists for the year with 11. He averaged five more assists per game than last year and sightly increased his scoring average with 29.1 point per game. That is an amazing feat and just proves that Harden is a special player. Now he isn't perfect because he still has a tendency to turn the ball over averaging a dismal six per game.

2) Rebounding:
  • A lot of people made a big deal out of Westbrook averaging ten rebounds a game and he deserved that spotlight but Harden didn't perform badly either with eight rebounds. This number is up from six rebounds a year ago and is very hard for a point guard(so far from the basket) to improve upon. He also increased his overall shooting percentage to around 45%, not the best in the world but not bad for a perimeter player.

1) Rockets Record:
  • The Rockets’ record was was just at .500, 41-41 which is extremely mediocre for the Western Conference. They were lucky to get into the playoffs at all and were quickly bounced by the Golden State Warriors in five games. This year they're 55-27 and earned home court in the first round of the playoffs, a resounding turnaround that Harden deserves a lot of credit for. Harden still has his flaws but there is no question that he should have the respect of the basketball world, he had an amazing season.
