The Spurs can expect for him to have a huge series, especially since the Grizzlies number one defender, Tony Allen, is out indefinitely with a strained calf. Leonard the last time he met the Grizzlies he dropped 32 points on them, you can expect much of the same, especially since you can expect Coach Popovich to slowly increase his minutes--no need for rest now.
2) Tony Parker:
All year the Spurs have focused on keeping Parker fresh and ready for a deep playoff push. This series would be ideal for Parker to begin to stretch his offensive wings a bit. In the regular season he only averaged around 10 ppg, now in the playoffs it is time for him to break loose. The Spurs will need his offensive contribution against stronger teams in the West, so it is important for him to gain confidence early in the playoffs.
1) Shooting Confidence:
The San Antonio Spurs have relied on the three point basket for a very long time and this season will be no different. If they plan on making it back to the NBA Finals their shooters must be on their mark. This series would be a great opportunity for players like Patty Mills and Danny Green to build confidence behind the arc. Also players like Johnathan Simmons and Kyle Anderson can improve from the three-point line as well, they will be needed in other rounds.
