Spiderman games of the past have been weighed down by their connection to the Spiderman films but this standalone game is finally free to break that mold. The films can no longer put restraints or limits on the story by telling developers that particular characters are off limits. Spiderman has one of the best rogue galleries in the superhero genre and this game will surely have several iconic characters make appearances and cameos. This formula has worked wonders for Rocksteady and the Arkham series, games that were being developed separately from the Batman shown in theaters.
2) Spiderman Suit:
The original suit is gorgeous and amazing sign that the game will be unique and completely original. The extra white to the costume brings out the shape-shifting eyes of the wall-crawler. The enlarged spider logo makes this rendition of the hero seem so much more intimidating and powerful. Spidey even has what seems to be knuckle guards that will allow him to safely punch his enemies on his amazing quest around New York. Developing an original suit for such a popular character is not an easy feat but developers pull it off nicely.
1) Gameplay Trailer:
One of the aspects of Spidey games that have held them back is the repetitiveness and useless missions. Spiderman PS4 seems to deal with this issue by giving Spiderman meaningful things to do and actually making players feel like the wall-crawler. The helicopter crash sequence in the trailer was a perfect way to showcase Spiderman’s powers and skills. It also shows how vulnerable the character can be and that makes for a thrilling game. The graphics also so far look amazing, the explosions and overall scenery have a particularly healthy crispness to them--PlayStation and Spidey seem to be a lethal combo.
