3) The Island:
  • So much of Arrow finales end up as a street fight, it was very refreshing to see the emerald archer return to his old stomping grounds. The island or “Lian Yu” has been a source of strength for this character since the show began five years ago. So it was only fitting for Season Five to end on its shores.  The shrubbery and the setting adds to the shows sense of danger and mysteriousness and helped the audience feel how serious the stakes were.

2) Slade Wilson:
  • The return of the show’s best villain couldn’t have come at a better time and the chemistry between the Green Arrow and his former nemesis was seamless. Audiences love for characters like these to team up and to take on a greater threat--this duo did not disappoint. Slade’s magnificence with a sword was greatly appreciated and Arrow’s skill with the bow was not too shabby as well. Having Wilson on the show just further increased the desperation factor of the episode and made the audience truly feel the tension grow.

1) Prometheus Last Laugh:
  • The Arrow show finales haven’t really been known for having a ton of legit cliff hangers--until now. Prometheus presented the Green Arrow with the ultimate trump card and blows his entire team/family to bits. The storytelling and filming of this scene was superb, making it a scene that most of the audience did not see coming. Prometheus is defeated but he literally took everyone (outside of Arrow and his son) with him. This act makes the season six premiere a must see event--easily. Audiences could arguably be presented with an entirely different cast next season.
