3) Villains Unite:

• The villains in the trailer and especially Sigourney Weaver’s character Alexandria look vindictive and intimidating. The return of Madam Gao and the Hand looks especially promising, she has the resources and fighters to throw at the Defenders.Bringing a team like the Defenders together requires a big enough threat and adding Elektra into the mix is a great touch. Seeing her slaughter those men in the trailer really put the audience on notice that the stakes are at an all-time high. Seeing her and Daredevil go head to head again will be epic.

2) Personal Plot:

• It was revealed in this trailer that villains are rounding up the Defender’s love ones and allies. This is a very personal plot point and really sets the stage for some very emotional episodes. It makes sense also that such a dire situation would bring together such a reluctant group of heroes. It also assures audiences that their favorite supporting cast members will not be left behind and will have significant roles in this ambitious event. The Defenders will be a very personal story and surely we show the emotional side of each hero involved, bringing the team together emotionally and not just physically.

1)Comedy:

• One of the strengths of the Netflix Marvel shows is that they hit on every emotion and despite all the dark moments they are sure to incorporate comedy. The scene in the trailer when the team takes a moment to eat Asian cuisine showcases this perfectly. The team is likely running for their lives and reluctantly takes some time to eat and learn more about each other. Luke Cage’s utter surprise at the dinner break is hilarious in itself and Daredevil’s sense of smell creeping out Jessica Jones was the cherry on top.
