In the video game Uncharted 3 audiences were introduced to the spunk and slightly dirty youthful Nathan Drake. Tom Holland matches the physical description of that character model to a T. His physical make up and even his hairstyle is similar. The character was very agile and athletic in the games and Holland has proven he can do that on screen as the Amazing Spider-Man.
Nathan Drake is known for his his humor and smart mouth, something else that Holland has proven he can do on screen as the web-head. The Drake character also has a strong level of intelligence and has to be a believable historian. Holland has the look and will be the bookworm that the story needs. The character also needs an actor that can also pull the emotional strings of the audience; Drake is a sympathetic character and not all laughs.
Holland is a good pick for Drake and he has the ability to work well with older co-stars, audiences will get a chance to see him be mentored in "Spider-Man Homecoming" by Robert Downey Jr./Iron-Man this summer. So the role of Sully--Drake’s mentor--is a very important piece of the puzzle. The chemistry between the two characters is essential to the Uncharted lore. If the movie plans to capitalize on Holland’s skill-set then the actor who plays Sully must be legitimate.
