Carnival cruise lines focus more on affordable pricing, while Royal Caribbean is usually much more expensive--ideally for the same vacation. Sure the RC boats have a little more luxury but if you are new to cruises Carnival has everything you need to make you experience just as enjoyable. The difference between the two from a luxury standpoint isn’t great enough to justify the price, similar to the differences between a 5 star hotel vs. a 4 star establishment. Carnival also has more inclusive restaurants versus RC which usually requires an extra dime for name-brand eaterys.
2) Party Atmosphere:
Carnival definitely promotes a more party driven experience than Royal Caribbean, so adults are likely to have a better time on Carnival.Carnival puts a larger emphasis on the nightlife aspect of the boat, providing more deck parties and comedy show experiences. Royal Caribbean is more geared towards the family vacation crowd but does provide night time options. Unfortunately for them their comedy shows for one fall flat compared to Carnival. The latter having custom stages and comedy rooms built for their experienced comedians. RC does provide great teen parties for the teenagers in your life, something that Carnival rarely provides.
1) Customer Service:
Workers at Royal Caribbean are wonderful, polite, and respectful but still not on the level of Carnival. RC will do everything that you need them to but their team is usually very bland and boring. Carnival’s team will go out the way to put a smile on your face. They learn your first name within five minutes of meeting you(greeting you in that excited manner the entire trip), ensure that you have a mint chocolate and animal-shaped towels waiting for you when you return to your room. Their vibe and attitude is just a step above the rest, add that with the trips cheaper price and party-vibe Carnival has to be your move.
